My paintings are not extensions of me but are explorations of ideas and connections. Starting from abstract chaos has allowed for an ethereal flow as I paint, almost like conversing with the energies of my surroundings. A slow build of forms and light enables me to contemplate the feelings of a painting for a long time. I have found that this engages a unique lexicon of symbolism that tells a story accessible to everyone. By live painting at music festivals and events, I witness the power of painting on people first hand. I have found that they mostly came to the same conclusion but through different avenues. Art is a beautiful web that lays the strings that connect us all. The deeper I explore myself, the more genuinely relatable and connected I become to others. The more I think of these paintings as collaborations with the Universe, and the less attached I am to the outcomes of a painting, the more I can dive deep within myself and see how I fit into it all.
